Manager (Calculations) - Administration Consulting
Based in either our Chesterfield or London office, we are looking for a technically skilled and client-focused Manager to join our Administration Consulting team. This role is ideal for someone with deep pensions expertise who can act as a trusted advisor to large pension scheme and insurance clients. You’ll provide strategic and technical input across a range of administration projects, with a particular focus on calculations, compliance, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support on key projects including GMP equalisation, factor reviews, automation, and legislative change.
- Lead calculation workstreams for new client implementations, including specification development and testing.
- Maintain and update calculation specifications in line with regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with system providers and internal teams to ensure cohesive implementation of calculation changes.
- Act as a client-facing expert on administration project matters, including preparing papers and attending client service review meetings.
- Support resolution of escalated complaints and oversee process improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, draft consultation responses, and coordinate implementation.
- Represent Brightwell at industry forums, conferences, and workshops to share insights and bring back best practices.
- Oversee annual scheme events such as pension increases and benefit statements.
- Liaise with external providers including actuaries and incumbent administrators.
Person Specification
We’re seeking a pensions professional with experience in a top-tier consultancy, third-party administrator, or large defined benefit schemes. You’ll have excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience with pensions administration software, risk transfer processes, and a relevant qualification such as FIA or PMI is highly desirable. A positive, adaptable attitude and strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
